About Us
BRATS is a technology-based company that operates in niches related to products obtained by Powder Metallurgy. It was founded in 2002 by 5 research engineers from USP, experts in metallurgy and materials, three of them from IPT (Institute of Technological Research of the State of São Paulo) and two from IPEN (Nuclear Energy Institute). It was incubated at CIETEC for around 2 years. Even while incubated, it begins to supply a first product: porous stainless steel media for exhaust systems during the solidification of rolling cylinders produced by centrifugation. This product has been supplied periodically to this day, without having presented any problems over all these years.
In 2007 the company moved to an industrial site in Cajamar (São Paulo State). It has grown and diversified in the design and manufacture of sintered porous media (filters). Today, it regularly serves around 50 customers. It continues to operate in niches, particularly those that can be served exclusively by sintered products, such as hard metal, heavy alloys, and magnetic materials. It has been continuously evaluating opportunities related to the additive manufacturing market, considering different segments of the production chain.
The company supplies porous metal media, stainless steel and bronze, for various applications, and seeks to understand and meet specific needs.
